Hardware components are subject to the European VDU - Directive 90/270, in
which the application of
a computer, display or input device has become
normative in order to remove unnecessary work load at office work places within
Europe
Hardware ergonomic recommendations are specified within ISO 9241 "Ergonomic
requirements for office work with visual display terminals (VDTs)". ISO 9241 is
the agreed International Standard for IT manufacturers regarding the ergonomic
requirements of the European VDU -
GS-Mark Directive (90/270).
